I spent a good part of my summers as a youth at tennis camps and playing USTA tennis tournaments. We had a well-supported local academy in my home town that would attract player from around the state, and a handful of kids from neighboring states. Many of these smaller local camps have now faded away, and tennis training facilities are now centered in the bigger states, and like many other sports camps, Nike and Adidas have taken over the business.

Sadly, I won’t be able to give any personal insight on tennis lessons, camps, or other educational opportunities related to kids and tennis, as my kid refuses to play tennis as it’s something I tried to encourage her to do. Nike does offer a few camps for adults, and they are starting to open back up for the summer of 2021. There is one in particular that I have my eye on, and that is a one day 6 hr camp located in Seattle, run by Joey Barnes, the head coach at the university of Seattle .
College Tennis camps are a great place for high school and junior players to sharpen their game and gain some insight to the world college tennis. Most of these camps, especial the independent ones, are still closed due to COVID-19.

Florida is the mecca of tennis camps with factices designed to turn top ranked junior players into tour completive athletes. The king of them all is IMG, that no runs the legendary camp started by Nick Bollettieri that has produced so many champions over the years including Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Monica Seles, and countless other tennis stars. They offer camps for those that are not world class players looking to board at the academy.
It’s been a long year since COVID-19 has changes our world. For the parents that have dealt with their kids education being done remotely, the summer of 2021 is a much anticipated time of the year. Hopefully some in person tennis camps will give our kids some sense of normalcy before they head back to real school in the fall.
